Haverfordwest Golf Club is recruiting an apprentice greenkeeper to join the team maintaining the course in first class condition. This is a career opportunity contributing to the team from day 1, supported by hands on learning and formal education.
The successful applicant will:
- Have genuine interest in an outdoor career
- Have an aptitude to learn new skills
- Be prepared to work flexibly including early starts and weekends
- Take pride in a job done well
Activities include:
- Drainage
- Equipment maintenance and operation
- Fertilisation
- Grass cutting
- Tree & pond maintenance
- Path construction and maintenance
- Soil improvement
- Watering
- Weed and pest control
The apprenticeship will last for 2 years involving training and hands on work on the course. This will be supported by day release for formal education leading to a recognised qualification in horticulture management.
